The Northern Alberta Transportation Club

The Northern Alberta Transportation Club is governed by a six-member Executive and a nine person Board of Directors. All representatives are members in good standing and elections are held at an annual election in November. The Executive consists of a President, 1st Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and the immediate Past-President. Each of these persons (except the immediate Past-President) are elected for a one-year term. The roll of the immediate Past-President is to ensure a smooth transition from one Executive to another and to enable long-term initiatives to be fully realized.

There are seven separate categories within the Club (Air/Water, Customs Broker, Freight Forwarder, Motor Carrier, Rail, Warehousing/Cartage and Industry), each with its own director elected for a two-year term. The two remaining directorships provide extra support for activities of the NATC.

The Northern Alberta Transportation Club maintains an ongoing National Transportation Week Committee to organize events and promote awareness of transportation among its members and the public at large. Over the years, the committee has organized such events as the poster contest for elementary school students, Transportation Day In The Park, shopping mall displays, seminars and other functions designed expressly to increase public awareness of transportation and its important role in society. Each year, as part of National Transportation Week, the All-Modes dinner is held to honour special transportation personalities.
